Oil on panel Dedicated and signed in the lower left corner Provenance: -Collection of W.H. Stewart, patron and major collector of Fortuny's work, Pennsylvania. To whom the painting is dedicated. -Acquired by the current owner in 2005 from Danni Malitzski Fine Art, Pottstown, Pennsylvania, who had previously acquired it from the Stewart family. -Private collection, Madrid. This courtyard in Granada is the same as that in the work entitled "Courtyard in the Alhambra," which is held in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University. This work depicts Fortuny's two children, Mariano and Maria Luisa, and the painting can be dated to the end of his stay in Granada in 1872.
