Oil on canvas Painter of seascapes, still lifes and flowers. Mentioned in Leyden in 1639 and in The Hague in 1640. He is one of the founders of the Confraternidad Pictura of The Hague, and was admitted the following year to the Gilda of Delft. An artist little recognized in his time, he enjoyed great popularity from the 19th century onwards with the revision of the taste towards more intimate themes.
