Victorian "Carlton House" desk, manufactured by Maple&Co, E

Made of mahogany with a top section of drawers, a removable embossed leather top, and five drawers in the waist section. This model was designed in the late 18th century by George Hepplewhite for the then Prince of Wales, whose London residence at the time was Carlton House. It bears the trade label of the cabinetmakers S&H Jewell and is stamped "Maple & Co. Ltd." Maple & Co. was a furniture brand established in London in 1841 that achieved great success among leading European houses, with branches in Paris and Buenos Aires, among other cities. It requires some general servicing and minor restorations. Measurements: 98 x 138 x 72 cm
