This antique ceramic panel depicts one of the most deeply rooted Valencian devotions: the Immaculate Conception or Purisima. Its conservation, apart from some minor defects and damage, is very good and it is presented framed. Both the model of the image and its painted faux frame are faithfully based on the print by Tomas de Rocafort depicting the "True Image of the Immaculate Conception of the Town of Onteniente", dated 1817. The colors used are those common in Valencian workshops of the period: yellow, orange, ochre, blue, and purple, in different shades, with the last one used in an intense tone to outline the figures.
