PAUL JEANNET SILVER WATCH

PAUL JEANNET silver pocket watch, circa late 18th-19th century. Square silver case, engraved and signed. Geneva No. 312. Hallmarked on the front and back covers. The back cover is profusely decorated with foliate scrolls and an unengraved cartouche. White porcelain dial with a seconds hand, power reserve indicator, and black enameled Roman numerals, signed LOEHR PATENT. The movement features a side anchor escapement and self-winding by counterweight; it was known as a self-winding, perpetual-winding watch with a sixty-hour power reserve. Reproduced in "Pocket Watches," page 125. Requires servicing. Weight: 121 g.
