Patinated bronze sculpture on a green marble base. Signed. This magnificent work on a bullfighting theme was presented by Mariano Benlliure at the General Exhibition of Fine Arts and Artistic Industries in 1904, a date to which the piece can be dated. Another bronze version with the same theme has been documented, between which there are some differences, and we also know that he painted the same motif in 1900, on a monumental canvas that today belongs to the Valencia Provincial Council and was donated by the sculptor's descendants in 1950.
