MARIANO ANDREU Barcelona (1888) / (1976) “The Venus of the Isles”, 1961
Book by Prosper Mérimée illustrated with 12 original lithographs by Mariano Andreu and another depicting Prosper Mérimée in the frontispiece. One of only 180 copies on nominative Rives vellum paper. Copy no. 153 owned by the member Madame Odette Simon-Bidaux. Includes an illustrated menu with a dedicated lithograph by Mariano Andreu in ink, dated 1961. Also included is a suite of lithographs on Malaca teinté paper, limited to only 10 copies. Printed in 1961 in Paris, texts by Fequet et Baudier and lithographs by Lucien Détruit.
