JUAN ANTONIO CANTOVA Novara, Italy (1686) / Ulithi, Caroline Islands (1731) "The Caroline Islands or New Philippines"

Engraving Map drawn by Cantova in 1722, based on information from shipwrecked sailors sheltered at the Guahan mission. It divides the archipelago into five provinces, indicates safe anchorage areas, and the Bernardo de Egui route from Guahan to the Philippines. In 1728, J. Stöcklein included it, engraved by Distell, in his work on missions: "Der Neue Welt-Bott". Dimensions: Paper: 16 x 43 cm
