MANUEL SALINAS Seville (1940) / (2021) "Untitled", 1991
Starting price 1.000 €
Oil on canvas. Work considered by the hand of this artist, considered the best engraver of the Baroque Netherlands, who stands out for his very elaborate technique and his studied compositions with a large number of elements. As such, he influenced all artists of his time, as engravings of him were used by many great masters of Baroque and Northern Mannerism. His painting shows his great qualities as a draftsman, his clear naturalism and the skillful use of light that enhances the characters, is the basis of the composition and highlights the drawing. All the characters, and not just the central figures, are made with great meticulousness and the material qualities stand out both in their incarnations and in their habits and objects. The ocher tones and warm central tones contribute to the intimacy of this devotional painting. Measurements: 100 x 96 cm.
