Unique Austrian-made watch, signed JOHANN HOFZMANN, VIENNA, "Inventer 21," mid-19th century, with a two-part superimposed structure. Key-wound movement (key not included), 14k gold case. The upper case features a white enamel dial with Arabic numerals and Breguet hands. The lower case has a front of cut-out cartouches depicting a romantic scene of two birds holding a heart with the initials D&K on a piece of silk that conceals the watch movement. The back covers have incised decoration, and the dust cover is signed. Required servicing. Weight: 44.9 g.
