VIRGENIAL SCHOOL (17th century - 18th century) “Virgin of Montserrat” .

Oil on canvas. In the 16th century, the Spanish brought devotion to the Virgin of Montserrat to Peru, and from then on, she was venerated in various cities. This is the case in the church of the town of Chinchero, near Cuzco, built in 1572. Another one also exists in the town of Hormiguero in Puerto Rico, in which the Child carries a saw in his hand.
