CASTILIAN SCHOOL (Late 16th Century) "Saint Jerome"

Carved and polychromed wooden relief. It is displayed in a polychrome wooden niche (with some losses). It follows the Mannerist model that Jeronimo Hernandez made in 1565, influenced by Pietro Torrigiano, for the altar predella of the Visitation in Seville Cathedral. It can also be related to a relief of the same theme and composition that forms part of the main altarpiece of the Church of Our Lady of La Blanca in Argoncillo (La Rioja). Dimensions: 88 x 54 x 14 cm
