ATTRIBUTED TO DANIEL PEREA Y ROJAS Burgos (1836) / Madrid (1909) "On the Way to the Bullring, Passing Through the Puerta de Alcala"

Oil on canvas. The attribution of this work is based on the existence of a very similar composition signed by Perea that appeared on the international market (see Christie's, “19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art”, 31 May 2012, lot 225), showing a slightly later moment in this same scene, in which the now-vanished Plaza de Toros on Calle Alcala, towards which the figures are heading, can already be seen.
