41 Official letters and telegrams preparing for the State Visit of Alfonso XIII to the Court of Edward VII, the date of his first meeting with the future Queen Victoria Eugenie in 1905. They met during Alfonso XIII's official trip to London in June 1905. This documentation includes letters from the Spanish Embassy in London signed by Ambassador Luis Polo de Bernabe, letters from the Mayor of Madrid, Eduardo Vincenti y Reguera, and telegrams on the letterhead of the Ministry of State. These telegrams specify when to send the monarch's portrait to Victoria Eugenie, what clothing Alfonso XIII would wear for the various meetings, the names of the military personnel who would accompany him, the name of his doctor for the trip, and whether or not he would have a valet and stewards.
