The realization of a work by two specialized artists was a common practice in the flamenco world. One of the most outstanding collaborations in the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries was that of Jan Brueghel I the Elder (1568 - 1625), protected by Cardinal Borromeo in Italy and a chamber painter to Archdukes Albert and Elizabeth; and Joos de Momper (1564 -1635), who learned with his father Bartolomé, was enrolled in the Corporation of Painters and worked in the service of Prince Albert.
